The television series centers on the story of Ian Archer who was abducted from home and brought to a strange prep school without his consent. Ian Archer (Drew Van Acker) is a high school student who, after being suspended from his school for defending a bullied nerd, finds himself trapped in a prep school without any idea how he got there and how to escape. He teams up with three other students, CJ, Gabe, and Suki to discover why they are at the school and how to get out. Aiding their efforts is the fact that each of them has a special "gift": Ian can see a half-second into the future; CJ can read body language just like the book, Suki can imitate other people by just hearing their voices, and Gabe can talk anyone into doing anything. However, their fellow students and mysterious superiors have "gifts" as well. Tower Prep is a strange boarding school where rules are not made to be broken and the adults or superiors are identified only by what they do or teach – example History, Math, Headmaster, and Coach.
